Dancing with the Stars -Derek Hough battles through a lot of pain to perform with sister after dislocating his shoulder
He was rehearsing for the show when he dislocated his shoulder during one session but was later able to perform with his sister Julianne, who used to be a professional alongside him on the show.
A source said to People: ‘He popped it back in, but he is still in a lot of pain.’
Julianne admitted that she was ‘nervous’ about making her return to the show. The siblings performed a jive to the classic, Shake Your Tail Feather.
The ballroom dancer left the programme two years ago to pursue a film career but celebrated her leading role in Footloose with a special performance on the show that made her famous.
Speaking ahead of her return, she told People magazine: ‘I definitely got a little emotional.
‘I don’t think I’ve ever been this nervous to do the show. I’m a little rusty.’
She performed one dance with her Footloose co-star Kenny Wormald before taking to the floor with her brother.
Hough said they decided to go all out on their choreography.
‘I love dancing with Julianne because we’re very similar in our minds, what we want to do and what we think looks good,’ Derek explained.
‘The producers said, “Don’t kill yourselves. Just go out and do a nice little dance,” and we’re like, “No, no, we’re not going to phone it in”.’
‘Julianne is an absolute superstar,’ he added. ‘This girl is incredible. I’m so proud of her.’
Hough and Lake made it through to the next round of the competition after topping the leader board.
Wilson Philips singer Chynna Philips was sent home.
