The 34-year-old reality star crashed the vehicle into a tree at around 2:30 a.m., and it burst into flames. Dunn was driving at 132 mph, according to Reuters. He and Hartwell “died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident,” police reported at the time, according to the New York Post.
Hartwell’s parents named both Dunn and the bar where he was drinking on the night of the accident in the lawsuit, NBC10 Philadelphia reports. Hartwell’s parents claim Barnaby’s of America in West Chester, Pa., exhibited negligence when serving excessive alcohol to Dunn.
Hartwell’s parents are suing for unspecified damages, which include the funeral costs, the wages Zach would have earned in his lifetime and reparation for the “pre-impact fright, fear, pain and suffering,” TMZ reports.
