X Factor Winner Melanie Amaro Sings Her Final Song, “Listen” During the December 22 Finale

When Melanie Amaro was named the winner of “The X-Factor,” Simon Cowell said, “We came here to find a superstar and we found a superstar.”

Given that Cowell’s previous prognostications have a mixed track record — for every Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson, there is a Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard — whether Amaro ends up being a true superstar in the longterm remains to be seen. But one thing is for sure: the British Virgin Islands-born college student sure put on a show this fall.
